Casa dei Bambini Newsletter, May, #9
Teacher: Rhoda Snyder
Dear Parents, good afternoon!

We believe you had a great break and are ready for the last few months of the school year!
We are continuing with our spring activities as children are excited to learn about how seeds turn into flowers or fruit etc. As well they will also be continuing to study about life cycles of various animals/insects. Unfortunately our live tadpoles have all died while we were on vacation. At least the children saw how the eggs of the frog turned into tadpoles.

Some children will be bringing home their beans which they had been taking care of in the plant caring area. This can been planted in the ground so children learn how to care for a plant.
We are still welcoming plants of various sizes and if you have any old plant stands to donate we would appreciate it very much.
Afternoon items
There are more children staying in the afternoon. Please provide a pack of a snack for the afternoon.
A toothbrush and toothpaste
A clear bag with a loop for hanging toothpaste which stays at school

Spring weather has finally returned and children need: a sunhat and light jackets for the sunny weather. You may also include a small water bottle with child's name for warmer days.

There has been a change in the nap arrangements for our napping children. They will make use of the room next to our classroom - infant toddler room for the remainder of the year. This should make it a little more comfortable for children to sleep here as it is close to the Casa classrooms when there needs to be a change of clothing to be made etc. Also, if any issues need discussion with the teacher, please feel free to come and talk to the teacher instead of discussing it with assistants who will automatically refer you to the teacher.

Potluck Picnic May, 26th 11 am - 2 pm
A picnic is planned for the May, 26th. Please make a note of the date from the school calendar. If the weather is cold we will use heating systems and hold the picnic anyway. We are looking forward to seeing you!
We will be holding our international costume concert separately this year. The concert will happen on June, 16th. We would like it if children could represent their cultural backgrounds by wearing a cultural costume of their choice. Parents are also invited to join their children on this very fun day. More on it in June!
Reports will be sent out to all our parents after May 20th and a follow up meeting will be arranged to discuss the progress your child had made during this school year. The parents of 3 year old's who started in September will be invited to observe their child in the class. You will be contacted regarding your observation date to start from Monday, May 14th.
We look forward to a productive month!
With kind regards,
Ms. Rhoda Snyder, Directress
